Not sure which Steadyrack to choose for your bike?

Follow the steps below to work out which of our Classic Range bike racks are right for your bike.

STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 4
Tyre size

Wheel size is the diameter of your wheel from edge to edge (A).

Tyre width is the width of the tyre on the wheel (B).
It’s the combination of these two numbers that determine which type of bike rack to choose.

Similar to car tyres, all bike tyres have markings on them. These will almost always give you the tyre width and the wheel diameter you need to match them to the correct Steadyrack bike rack.

Narrow space between the downtube and wheel

Some bikes, such as time trial bikes, have a narrow spacing between the downtube and the tyre. This can make it difficult for the rack arms to fit between. If your bike has less than 15mm or 1/2” gap it may be better suited to our ProFlex range.

Does your bike have fixed fenders or mudguards attached to the front forks?

If your bike has fenders or mudguards, you will still need to match the tyre and wheel size - see step 1 above. However, your bike will be suited to our ProFlex range which is fender compatible. You will also need to confirm the space between your fender stays and tyre is suitable - see step 4 below.

MTB mudguards - Please note many mountain bikes with small fenders or mudguards will not require the ProFlex range - being much smaller they will not interfere with the function of our Classic Rack or Mountain Bike Rack.

Fender stays with tight tolerance

Some bikes with fenders or mudguards which fit tightly to the wheel/tyre will not fit our racks. Before you purchase, make sure you determine if your bike needs the Classic Range, or the ProFlex that is fender compatible.
