Steadyrack nació de la frustración universal del CEO y fundador David Steadman de no poder aparcar su coche en su garaje debido a que las bicicletas de varios miembros de la familia se quedaban en el suelo, en su lado del garaje. ¿Te suena familiar?

Como muchas otras familias, el resto de los miembros de la familia de David no eran capaces de levantar sus bicicletas y hacer malabarismos para colgarlas en los ganchos de las paredes.

David se preguntaba una y otra vez: "¿Seguro que tiene que haber una forma de colgar las bicicletas en una pared sin tener que intentar hacer malabarismos para colgarlas en algún tipo de gancho?". A las dos semanas de compartir su frustración con su suegro Ron en una barbacoa familiar, apareció un bastidor muy rudimentario hecho a mano.

"Seguro que tiene que haber una forma de colgar las bicicletas en la pared sin tener que hacer malabarismos para engancharlas a algún tipo de gancho".

No tenía pivote, ni soporte plano de metal, ni apoyo para la rueda trasera, pero el prototipo fue el comienzo de un viaje de cinco años de múltiples iteraciones caseras de David y Ron, que dio como resultado el ahora patentado Steadyrack y el resto, como se suele decir, es historia.

En 2009, Steadyrack produjo y vendió oficialmente sus primeros portabicicletas. Nick Sima, un entusiasta de las bicicletas, fue nuestro primer cliente, que instaló el primero de los cientos de miles de soportes Steadyrack públicos y privados que existen en la actualidad.
